Bus

SEPTA has 126 Bus Routes serving tens of thousands of destinations through out the region.  Designed to enhance access to popular destinations including employment centers, entertainment and sporting venues, and area shopping malls, many of these routes connect with other SEPTA services at some of our busiest terminals and transportation centers including Frankford, Olney, Wissahickon, 69th Street, and Norristown.

Many SEPTA bus routes offer expanded hours of operation to accommodate customers with early morning or late night work hours, including SEPTA Owl service that operates 24 hours.

Fares
The base cash fare to ride a SEPTA is bus is $2.00.  Savvy customers save money by using one of our discounted fares – tokens, TranPasses, TrailPasses, Once Day Convenience Pass, or a Cross County Pass to ride.  If you use cash, exact fare must be put in the farebox. 

Most Suburban and some City Bus Routes have fare zones — $.50 cents — based on distance traveled.  The first zone is covered by the base fare paid and customers must pay an additional $.50 for each additional zone traveled.  Detailed fare information including a complete list of bus routes with zone fares is available in Fares.
