A LETTER FROM JIM FOLEY

Dear CCT Connect Customer:

Has it really been over three years since we announced that every one of SEPTA's buses became 100% accessible? As I read through this edition of CCT Connections, I am astounded to see how far we have come since then. Our cover story really reinforces our commitment to making transportation easy and accessible. It's your persistence and suggestions that spur our continued commitment to this endeavor.

Your persistence is evident when you read the article entitled, The Numbers Tell The Story! The number of successful wheelchair/scooter boardings from 2004 to now are staggering. Add to the fact that the number of customers requesting reduced fare cards, is also on the rise, and you clearly see the formula for success.

In every issue, we introduce you to a member of the SEPTA/CCT family. I think you will enjoy the article on SAC's new Chair when you Meet Patricia Russell. I've had a chance to meet with her and I think you will agree, she has a great vision for SAC and the role the group will play in our continuing efforts to make SEPTA truly accessible and useable by all.

In our Summer 2006 edition of CCT Connections, we told you how important it is to make sure your wheelchair/scooter can be secured. In that article, we published a list of companies who provide wheelchair securement kits. Because of the demand for this information, once again, we're providing you with a list of local and national companies who can help.

Finally, with winter finally here, make sure you read the article on Winter Weather. You need to be aware of how we determine what level of service we can provide.

I hope you enjoy this edition of CCT Connections. Have a healthy and happy New Year (and snow-emergency free)!

James J. Foley
