SEPTA Broad Street Line Service Ready For Final Eagles Game Of The Season

PHILADELPHIA, PA – SEPTA Broad Street line service is ready to carry football fans to the action of the final Philadelphia Eagles game of the season on Sunday, December 30 against the Buffalo Bills.

Fans using the Broad Street Line will avoid the expensive parking fees and expected traffic jams in the area of the South Philadelphia Sports and Entertainment Complex and travel in comfort to the 1 p.m. game. This season, more than 50,000 football fans have used the Broad Street Line service to travel to and from Eagles home games.

SEPTA Broad Street Line “Sports Express” trains will be added to the regular Broad Street Line Sunday schedule especially for the game. The Sports Express trains will leave Fern Rock Transportation Center every ten minutes from 10:10 a.m. to 12:20 p.m. and stop only at the Olney Transportation Center, Erie, Girard, Spring Garden, Race-Vine, City Hall and Walnut-Locust Stations en route to Pattison Station and the Sports Complex.  The express trip from City Hall to the Sports Complex takes only about eight minutes.  In addition, local trains will also be in service about every 12 minutes throughout the day.Local trains take about 15 minutes to travel between City Hall and Pattison Stations.

In addition, Eagles fans driving into Center City can park at any one of five city-owned parking lots for only $5.00 and purchase a two-pack of SEPTA tokens ($2.90) there. The parking lots are just steps away from the Broad Street Line City Hall Station.

The parking lots include:

·AutoPark - JFK Plaza Garage - 15th & Arch Streets

·AutoPark - Center City Lot - 15th & Arch Streets

·Gateway Garage - 15th & Vine Streets

·AutoPark - Gallery Mall - 10th & Filbert Streets

·AutoPark - Jefferson - 10th & Ludlow Streets

To make the subway trip more convenient, SEPTA will open the lower level platform at Pattison Station before and after the game allowing for easier travel into and out of the station; after the game fans will find trains standing by to provide local and express service back to Fern Rock.
