SEPTA Service In Center City Affected By Building Implosion On Sunday

PHILADELPHIA, PA – SEPTA will operate bus Routes 23, 27, 48, 124/125, and C on local detours in Center City during morning hours on Sunday, November 11 due to the scheduled implosion of the old National Building located at 13th & Cherry Streets.

The area between Broad & Race Streets and 12th & Filbert Streets will be closed to traffic from 5:30 a.m. until approximately 9 a.m. Detours will remain in effect until inspectors have declared the area safe.

In addition, SEPTA Broad Street line and regional rail services will be briefly delayed in Center City at about 7:30 a.m. due to the implosion as a safety precaution.

The implosion of the National Building is part of the Pennsylvania Convention Center expansion project.
