SEPTA Broad Street Line Service Ready To Roll For A Busy Weekend At Sports Complex
Sixers Home Opener and Eagles-Cowboys Games Expected to Attract Thousands to South Philadelphia Sports Complex

PHILADELPHIA, PA – SEPTA Broad Street Line service is ready to roll as thousands of sports fans are expected to travel to the South Philadelphia Sports Complex this weekend for the Philadelphia 76ers home opener against the New Jersey Nets on Saturday, November 3 at the Wachovia Center and the Philadelphia Eagles-Dallas Cowboys game on November 4 at Lincoln Financial Field.
Broad Street Line service is the best route to the South Philadelphia Sports and Entertainment Complex as riders travel in comfort and avoid hefty parking fees and the expected traffic jams in the area.
For the 76ers home opener scheduled for a 7 p.m. tip-off, regular Broad Street Line service will be in operation with local and regular express trains running about every 10 minutes throughout the evening to the Pattison Station at the Sports Complex.
For the 8:15 p.m. Sunday night Eagles game, Broad Street Line “Sports Express” trains added to the regular weekend schedule will leave Fern Rock Transportation Center about every ten minutes between 6:15 p.m. and 8:05 p.m. en route to Pattison Station and Lincoln Financial Field.
Broad Street Line Sports Express trains start from Fern Rock Transportation Center and stop only at Olney Transportation Center, Erie, Girard, Spring Garden, Race-Vine, City Hall and Walnut-Locust Stations en route to Pattison Station and the Sports Complex.The express trip from City Hall to the Sports Complex takes only about eight minutes. Local Broad Street Line trains running about every 12 minutes will also in service throughout the evening.
After the game local and express trains will be standing by to provide return service to Fern Rock.
This football season an average of about 9,000 fans per game have used the Broad Street Line to travel to Eagles home games.
On Eagles game days, fans traveling to the Sports Complex can also take advantage of the specially discounted $5.00 parking rate available at one of five city-operated parking lots in Center City and then transfer to the Broad Street Line. SEPTA tokens (a two-pack is $2.90) can be purchased at the parking lots, which are all only a short walk away from the Broad Street Line City Hall Station.

To make the subway trip more convenient, SEPTA will also open the lower level platform at Pattison Station before and after the game allowing for easier travel into and out of the station; after the game fans will find trains standing by to provide local and express service back to Fern Rock.
