SEPTA is Coming to Town for Free Photos Courtesy of SEPTA

December 15, 2006

PHILADELPHIA, PA - In the spirit of Christmas, SEPTA will sponsor two upcoming workshops in West Philadelphia offering free photographs with Santa.

Santa will take time off from his busy schedule to deliver holiday cheer and pose for free photographs with children of all ages tomorrow at 120 S 60th Street from noon until 4 p.m.

He’ll also make a special trip back to town on Saturday, Dec. 23 to pose for free pictures and smiles at the West Philadelphia YMCA at 5120 Chestnut Street from noon until 2 p.m.

In addition, this Saturday Santa’s helpers (SEPTA representatives) will be on location from 1 until 3 p.m. to giveaway free $5.00 coupons for use at participating area stores displaying the special SEPTA Shopping Zone decal. The Shopping Zone marketing campaign has assisted merchants in the West Philadelphia area since June.

Holiday shoppers may also park free of charge during December at any of SEPTA’s parking lots in West Philadelphia while shopping at neighborhood businesses for that special gift.

The services are part of SEPTA’s continuing outreach program in the community during its ongoing Market Street Elevated (MSE) reconstruction project in West Philadelphia.

SEPTA will operate regular train service between 69th Street Terminal and the Frankford Transportation Center through the busy holiday season. Major construction on the MSE project and weekend shuttle bus service will resume in the spring of 2007.
