PHILADELPHIA, PA ‑‑ SEPTA will operate extra Thanksgiving Day Parade service on the Broad Street and Market‑Frankford Lines on Thursday (November 23) and special SEPTA Santa Express service on Friday (November 24).
THANKSGIVING DAY SERVICE
On Thanksgiving Day:
- All SEPTA services will be on holiday (Sunday) schedules.
- For the Thanksgiving Day Parade, Market‑Frankford and Broad Street Line trains will operate approximately every eight minutes between 10 a.m. and noon. Service on both lines will continue to operate about every ten minutes with regular Sunday service for the remainder of the day.
- On Thanksgiving Day, November 23, SEPTA bus Routes 2, 7, 17, 27, 31, 32, 33, 38, 43, 44, 48, 124, 125, C, and Market-Frankford Owl service will be operated on local detours due to the parade.
- The SEPTA Customer Service Department, (215) 580-7800, will be open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.Pre-recorded information is also available through the STAR system 24-hours a day.
FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 24
- All SEPTA City Transit bus routes will operate on a modified weekday schedule. All other services will operate on regular weekday schedules.
- The exciting holiday SEPTA Santa Express tradition will continue with Santa and Mrs. Claus and their helpers traveling on board festively decorated select subway-elevated and regional rail trains en route to Center City and the Gallery Shopping Center. Santa, Mrs. Claus and friends are scheduled to arrive at 11th Street Station and The Gallery at 11:22 a.m. on-board a Market-Frankford Line train.
Santa Express trains depart:
- At 10 a.m. from Frankford Transportation Center on the Market-Frankford Line,with Santa and Mrs. Claus on-board (the media are invited to join them).
- At 10 a.m. from 69th Street Terminal on the Market-Frankford Line.
- At 10 a.m. from Fern Rock Transportation Center on the Broad Street Line (express stopsonly).
- At 9:30 a.m. from Chestnut Hill West Station on regional rail Route R8.
- At 9:10 a.m. from Paoli Station on regional rail Route R5.
