Eagles Football and SEPTA Broad Street Line "Sports Express" Service Is A Winning Combination For Eagles-Redskins Game November 9, 2006 The Broad Street Line offers frequent and comfortable service to Pattison Station at the South Philadelphia Sports Complex and riders can leave their automobiles at home and avoid the inevitable traffic congestion on Broad Street and I-95 as well as the expense of parking. An average of more than 8,000 Eagles fans per game have chosen the Broad Street Line this season as their transportation of choice. Broad Street Line "Sports Express" trains make limited stops en route to Pattison Station and the South Philadelphia Sports Complex. For the 1 p.m. game on Sunday, Broad Street Line “Sports Express” trains will leave Fern Rock Transportation Center every ten minutes from 10:10 a.m. to 12:10 p.m. Sports Express trains stop only at the Olney Transportation Center, Erie, Girard, Spring Garden, Race-Vine, City Hall and Walnut-Locust Stations en route to Pattison Station and the Sports Complex. The express trip from City Hall to the Sports Complex takes only about eight minutes. In addition, local trains will also be in service about every 12 minutes throughout the day. Local trains take about 15 minutes to travel between City Hall and Pattison Stations.
Eagles fans driving into Center City can park at any one of five city-owned parking lots for only $5.00. There they can purchase two SEPTA tokens ($2.60) and take the short walk to the Broad Street Line City Hall Station where they will be able to board scheduled southbound trains to the stadium. The parking lots include:
To make the subway trip more convenient, SEPTA will open the lower level platform at Pattison Station before and after the game, allowing for easier travel into and out of the station. After the game fans will find trains standing by to provide local and express service back to Fern Rock. The SEPTA Broad Street Line is the best route to several other events at the Sports Complex this weekend including the Philadelphia Flyers-Buffalo Sabers hockey game at the Wachovia Center and the Philadelphia Kixx-Detroit Ignition indoor soccer game at the Wachovia Spectrum at 7 p.m. on Saturday, November 11.
