Schedules Change Sunday for SEPTA Regional Rail Routes

PHILADELPHIA, PA - SEPTA regional rail routes will operate with new schedules beginning Sunday, October 29. The changes include significant modifications to midday R5 Lansdale-Doylestown weekday service due to a construction project.

Passengers can pick up new timetables at Market-East, Suburban and 30th Street Stations and SEPTA sales offices beginning Friday, October 27. Schedules are currently available online at this link.  

Highlights for the upcoming changes include:

*R2 Newark – the inbound (to Center City Philadelphia) train from Newark Station scheduled to leave at 6:52 a.m. on current schedules will be modified to leave Newark four minutes earlier at 6:48 a.m. and will operate express service from Marcus Hook Station to University City Station.Also, the inbound train originating from Crum Lynne Station at 7:41 a.m. on current schedules will be extended to operate from Marcus Hook beginning at 7:28 a.m. The operating times for several other R2 trains have also been revised.

*R3 Media/Elwyn/West Trenton – the R3 train scheduled to leave Elwyn Station at 1:45 p.m. on current schedules will be revised to leave the station 16 minutes later at 2:01 p.m. This train will subsequently depart Suburban Station 16 minutes later at 2:44 p.m. en route to West Trenton.

*R5 Lansdale/Doylestown – midday R5 train service will operate hourly between Doylestown and Glenside Stations for approximately nine weeks to accommodate a construction project. In addition to midday adjustments, some early morning inbound and outbound R5 trains will be retimed.

*R5 Paoli/Thorndale – the inbound train (to Center City Philadelphia) scheduled to leave Thorndale Station at 8:13 a.m. on current schedules will no longer travel through to Doylestown Station but will instead terminate at Temple University Station.

All other regional rail routes will have minor adjustments. Passengers may call the SEPTA Customer Service Department at 215-580-7800 for all service information.
