PHILADELPHIA, PA -- SEPTA Broad Street Line "Sports Express" service is set for the Eagles-Packers Monday Night Football game on October 2 at Lincoln Financial Field.
For riders heading to the game, scheduled for an 8:30 p.m. kickoff, Broad Street Line "Sports Express" service will operate about every 10 minutes from 6:45 p.m. to 8:05 p.m. between Fern Rock Transportation Center and Pattison Station and Lincoln Financial Field.
Sports Express trains stop only at the Olney Transportation Center, Erie, Girard, Spring Garden, Race-Vine, City Hall and Walnut-Locust Stations en route to Pattison Station.The express trip from City Hall Station to the stadium takes only about eight minutes.It is a 27-minute ride from Fern Rock.Local Broad Street Line trains will also be in operation about every 12 minutes during the evening.Local trains take about 15 minutes to travel between City Hall and Pattison Station.
SEPTA will open the lower level platform at Pattison Station to accommodate the additional trains and expected crowd. After the games fans will find northbound trains standing by to provide express and local service back to Fern Rock.
Eagles fans driving into Center City can park at any one of five city-owned parking lots for only $5.00.There they can purchase two SEPTA tokens ($2.60) and take the short walk to the Broad Street Line City Hall Station where they will be able to board scheduled southbound trains to the stadium.
The parking lots include:
·AutoPark - JFK Plaza Garage - 15th & Arch Streets
·AutoPark - Center City Lot - 15th & Arch Streets
·Gateway Garage - 15th & Vine Streets
·AutoPark - Gallery Mall - 10th & Filbert Streets
·AutoPark - Jefferson - 10th & Ludlow Streets
In addition, if the Phillies play a wildcard tie-breaker game at Citizens Bank Park on Monday afternoon baseball fans traveling to the game will find local, express and "Sports Express" Broad Street Line trains in service.
Regular Express trains make limited stops en route and run about every 15 minutes or less between Fern Rock Transportation Center and Walnut-Locust Station on the daytime schedule.Riders traveling on the regular express trains transfer to local trains at Walnut-Locust Station to continue the trip to Pattison Station and the South Philadelphia Sports Complex.In addition, local train service operates between Fern Rock and Pattison Station about every 10 minutes or less on the weekday schedule.
