SEPTA to Operate Saturday R1 Airport Shuttle Buses

July 13, 2006

PHILADELPHIA, PA - SEPTA will operate shuttle bus service on the R1 Airport Line between 30th Street Station and Philadelphia International Airport on Saturday, July 15 due to a railroad construction project.

The shuttle buses will replace outbound and inbound train service and originate from University City and Eastwick Stations as follows:

• For outbound service (to the airport), passengers at Market East and Suburban Stations should board regular R1 trains to travel to 30th Street Station. Shuttle buses will also depart University City Station at scheduled R1 train times and continue to 30th Street Station. At 30th Street Station, passengers will transfer to the shuttle buses for direct travel to Terminals A, B, C, D and E at the airport. The shuttle buses will then depart the airport for Eastwick Station.

• For inbound service (to Center City Philadelphia), shuttle buses will depart Eastwick Station at 17 and 47 minutes after the hour with the exception of the first shuttle bus, which will leave Eastwick Station at 4:54 a.m., and the last shuttle bus, which will leave the station at 12:07 a.m.The shuttle buses will travel to Terminals A, B, C, D and E at the airport. At the airport, the shuttle buses will leave from the regular SEPTA bus stop at 22 and 52 minutes after the hour. The shuttle buses will then travel directly to 30th Street Station, where passengers can transfer to any SEPTA regional rail train, before departing for University City Station.

In addition, the last inbound shuttle bus will travel directly to Market East Station after leaving the airport so passengers can connect with the final outbound train from Center City to Glenside. The bus will then continue to Suburban, 30th Street and University City Stations.
