Weekend Shuttle Buses to Operate between R6 Norristown Stations

April 29, 2008

PHILADELPHIA, PA - SEPTA will operate weekend shuttle buses between R6 Norristown line stations due to a railroad maintenance project.

The shuttle buses will operate for the entire service day on Saturday & Sunday, May 3 & 4 and replace train service between Elm Street Station and the Norristown Transportation Center in order to allow workers to replace worn curved rail.

During the project shuttle buses will operate as follows:

Inbound service (to Philadelphia) – shuttle buses will operate in place of trains and depart Elm Street Station at scheduled train times. The shuttle buses will stop at Main Street Station and connect with trains at Norristown Transportation Center allowing passengers to continue their trip to Center City Philadelphia.

For outbound service (to Norristown), passengers will board regularly scheduled trains from Center City Philadelphia. Riders traveling to Main Street and Elm Street Stations, however, will be required to transfer to shuttle buses at the Norristown Transportation Center.

Passengers may telephone the SEPTA Customer Service Department at (215) 580-7800 for information on all SEPTA service or visit online.
