SEPTA Broad Street Line Service Set for Weekend Events at Philadelphia Sports Complex
SEPTA Service Ready For Three Events Scheduled For Friday Evening

PHILADELPHIA, PA – Whether you’re planning to cheer your favorite team on from the stands or enjoy the show under the “Big Top”, SEPTA Broad Street Line service is set for the weekend events scheduled for the South Philadelphia sports complex from Friday, April 21 through Sunday, April 23.
Three evening events scheduled on Friday are expected to draw 50,000 fans to the sports complex and create significant roadway congestion. The Broad Street Line will get you there quickly, comfortably and conveniently.
On Friday, April 21, the Ringling Brothers, Barnum & Bailey Circus brings “The Greatest Show On Earth” to the Wachovia Spectrum with shows scheduled for 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. In addition, the Phillies game against the Florida Marlins at Citizens Bank Park will start at 7:05 p.m. while the Philadelphia Soul are set for a 7 p.m. football game against the Columbus Destroyers at the Wachovia Center. Three Broad Street Line Sports Express trains added to the regular weekday schedule will leave Fern Rock Transportation Center at 6:08 p.m., 6:18 p.m. and 6:28 p.m.
On Saturday, April 22, the circus will have shows at the Wachovia Spectrum at 11 a.m., 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. while the Phillies begin the second of their three game series with the Marlins at 7 p.m. Broad Street Line Sports Express trains will again depart Fern Rock Transportation Center at 6:08 p.m., 6:18 p.m. and 6:28 p.m.
On Sunday, April 23, nearly 60,000 fans are expected to travel to the sports complex as the circus concludes weekend performances at the Wachovia Spectrum at 11 a.m., 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. In addition, the Phillies will finish their series with the Marlins with a 1:35 p.m. game at Citizens Bank Park. Broad Street Line Sports express trains will operate from Fern Rock Transportation Center at 12:18 p.m., 12:28 p.m. and 12:38 p.m.
Sports Express trains stop only at the Olney Transportation Center, Erie, Girard, Spring Garden, Race‑Vine, City Hall and Walnut‑Locust Stations en route to Pattison Station in South Philadelphia. The express trip from City Hall takes only about eight minutes. Local trains take only 11 minutes to travel to the Sports Complex from City Hall.
In addition, local and regular express trains will be in service throughout the day on Friday with local trains in operation throughout the day on Saturday and Sunday.
After the events local and express trains will be standing by to provide frequent service back to Fern Rock.
