Schedule Changes Set For SEPTA City Transit, Suburban Transit Routes February 8, 2007 The changes include new bus Route 50 service to Philadelphia Park Casino. Operating between the Frankford Transportation Center and the casino, the new route will provide service about every 30 minutes. In addition, express trips will operate from Frankford Transportation Center to Pennypack Circle making stops enroute only at Cottman Avenue, Rhawn Street, and Holmes Avenue. Buses will then provide local service between Nazareth Hospital and the casino. New Route 50 will also offer service for riders traveling to the Cardinal Health Center at Red Lion & Decatur Roads. New bus Route 150 will provide service between Plymouth Meeting Mall and Philadelphia Park Casino via the Pennsylvania Turnpike. Route 150 will offer limited service between 4:15 a.m. and 11:53 p.m. on weekdays and between 4:50 a.m. and 11:53 p.m. on Saturdays. Service on bus Routes 1, 20, 127, and 130 has also been expanded for passengers traveling to Philadelphia Park Casino. Riders of these routes should be aware that they may be subject to an additional zone fare charge beyond the base fare based on travel distances. New timetables are available now at SEPTA sales offices, on vehicles and at SEPTA transportation districts. The schedules are also available on the SEPTA web site. For additional information riders should call the SEPTA Travel Information Center at (215) 580-7800.Other significant changes on SEPTA City Transit Division bus routes include: Route 14 weekday and weekend service has been revised throughout the day.The route will now provide service every 30 minutes from Neshaminy Mall to Oxford Valley Mall. Route 18 the first westbound trip from Oxford Avenue & Loney Street will now leave at 5:10 a.m. Route 20 - late night trips on weekdays and weekends will provide service between the Frankford Transportation Center and Philadelphia Park Casino via Franklin Mills Mall. Trips to Cardinal Health Center will be replaced by new bus Route 50 service. Route 37 weekday and weekend trips have been revised to serve the new Harrah's Chester Casino & Racetrack. Route 38 continues to operate on detour using 42nd Street due to bridge restrictions in West Philadelphia. Route 40 continues to operate on detour using Chestnut and Walnut Street bridges due to South Street Bridge weight restrictions.The bus also continues to operate over 42nd Street due to bridge restrictions in West Philadelphia. Route C service on early morning weekday trips from Ogontz & Olney Avenues has been altered to leave between 4:46 a.m. and 6:30 a.m. Changes to Suburban Transit Division service: Route 94 on Sundays, four new round-trips will operate from Chestnut Hill at 6:45 a.m., 8:30 a.m., 10:10 a.m., and 6:40 p.m. with return trips from Montgomery Mall at 7:30 a.m., 9:30 a.m., 11:50 a.m., and 7:45 p.m. The weekday and Saturday 7:35 p.m. trip from Chestnut Hill and the 8:40 p.m. trip from Montgomery Mall will be discontinued due to low ridership. Route 96 a new weekday trip will leave Montgomery County Community College at 2:15 p.m. On Sundays, five new round-trips will be added to the schedule with buses leaving Norristown Transportation Center at 6:10 a.m., 7:10 a.m., 8:10 a.m., 9:10 a.m. and 7:10 p.m. and return trips leaving Lansdale at 7:15 a.m., 8:15 a.m., 9:15 a.m., 10:15 a.m. and 8 p.m. Routes 97 - all Saturday evening service will now terminate at Conshohocken Railroad Station. In addition, on Sundays the 7 a.m. trip from Barren Hill Road to Norristown Transportation Center will be discontinued due to low ridership. Route 98 on weekdays, the 7:35 a.m. trip from Plymouth Meeting Mall will now be extended to Norristown Transportation Center. In addition, the 7:35 p.m. and 11: 45 p.m. trips from Plymouth Meeting Mall to the Norristown Transportation Center will be discontinued. Route 104 additional weekday service to and from West Chester has been scheduled to address overcrowding. Route 108 on weekdays, the 5:52 a.m. trip leaving 67th & Elmwood Avenue will now leave at 5:36 a.m. instead and be extended to 84th & Crane Streets. A new trip will leave 69th Street Terminal at 7:10 p.m. en route to 67th Street & Elmwood Avenue. In addition, on Saturdays three new weekday trips have been added from 67th Street & Elmwood Avenue between 7 and 10 p.m.On Sundays a new 6:15 p.m. trip from 69th Street Terminal has been added to address overcrowding. Route 116 weekday service in Delaware County will now make all local stops between 69th Street Terminal and USPS. Route 127 weekday and Saturday service will be extended from Neshaminy Mall to Philadelphia Park Casino. Route 130 weekday and Saturday service has been revised in the vicinity of Philadelphia Park Casino and will now accommodate riders from Hulmeville, Penndel, Langhorne and Newtown with departure times adjusted between Franklin Mills Mall and Bucks County Community College. Bus service at Franklin Mills Mall has been moved to the JC Penney bus stop. Route 310 a new weekday evening trip has been added arriving at Willow Grove Park Mall at 6:30 p.m. |
